SMOKE STACK RHINO
Funky blues-rockers Smoke Stack Rhino are bringing the mojo back for one more Melbourne show before the year is out, launching new single ‘Old Silver Bullet’ at The Toff on Thursday 22nd December.
2022 has been a bumper year for the Yarra Valley-based trio. With previous single ‘Woolamai’ getting played on Triple M and placed on Spotify editorial playlists, and the band wowing audiences at Rock The Valley Music Festival, Moruya Blues & Roots Festival, Rock The Turf and Airey’s Inlet Music Festival, plus playing alongside Blues Fest artists like The Teskey Brothers, Hussy Hicks and 19 Twenty, they are becoming one of the most talked about and exciting up-&-coming acts in Australian blues and roots.
‘Old Silver Bullet’ was originally inspired by Muddy Waters’ version of ‘Got My Mojo Workin’ but sounds more like a fuzzy mix of The Black Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix Experience and John Butler Trio.
It’s the perfect pump-up jam for the upcoming Australian summer and sets the band up for an even bigger 2023.
